Cameron Severns for State House Position 1 – 25th Legislative District

Originally from Spokane, Cameron Severns lives in the Summit-Waller area, works in insurance, leads an addiction-recovery ministry at his church, and volunteers with Family Promise of Pierce County, a nonprofit that helps families experiencing homelessness. Incredibly, Cameron Severns was able to secure a top-2 finish in the 2022 primary election as a write-in candidate to face Republican Rep. Cyndy Jacobsen.

Severns lost to Jacobsen in the general election, but he gained valuable campaign experience and preparation. This year, he will compete for an open seat vacated by Rep. Kelly Chambers, who is running for Pierce County Executive. In his endorsement interview, Severns demonstrated a thorough understanding of several environmental issues and statewide initiatives, and was eager to learn more about a couple of specific topics. He is also endorsed by Washington Conservation Action.

Severns will face Michael Keaton (a local guy, not “Batman” and “Beetlejuice”). Keaton is a former Air Force pilot and served on the Puyallup School Board for 2 terms. While Keaton presents some challenges as an opponent, Severns is already canvassing neighborhoods, connecting with voters and winning their support in a rapidly-changing district.
