Community Rallies:
The room was packed to capacity as supporters gathered to celebrate our recent fundraising success. Following several inspiring speeches from our team, the event brought in an additional $6,840 toward our legal defense fund.
This incredible push brings our total to nearly $26,000 raised toward our $30,000 goal ahead of our November 18th court date.
Raising this much money is an extraordinary achievement for a small community. But if you walk the trail along the creek on any given weekend, you see why it matters: the parks and natural areas around DuPont are treasured by people from all across the region, many of whom travel from neighboring communities. It’s a county treasure.
Now, we need your help to raise the final $3,000 needed to complete our legal briefs and secure representation for our attorney at the November court hearing.
Unlike the winding trails we fight to protect, the courtroom doesn’t rely on outdoor scenery—it relies on the written record. The judge reviews our briefs, listens to oral arguments, questions our attorneys, then issues her decision that will determine the fate of the watershed.
Our opening brief was submitted last week, and our final filings are underway. Can you help us raise the remaining $3,000 to cover our attorney’s appearance before the judge next month?
Every contribution counts. Many of our donations are under $100—it truly takes a collective effort from everyone who cares about this creek to cross the finish line.
